Writer’s Celebration

December 7, 2010 · 3 Comments · Uncategorized

As you know Writing is a very important part of our day. The focus of our first writing project was personal narratives or true stories in our lives. Some of the goals for this first pieces were to trying different types of leads, various endings, finding a heart to our stories, tricks to titles, and exploding the moment.

Last Friday, we had our first Writer’s Celebration. Students enthusiastically shared their writing with parents. It gave our young authors an authentic reason to write. Thank you for being an important link in the process of writing.

We had an excellent time at your Writer’s Celebration. Mrs. Ross has a class full of great writers and wonderful speakers. I really enjoyed hearing your stories come to life as you read them. I thought having us parents switch to a different corner was a great idea- this gave you all a chance to read your stories a second time. Your classroom looked so elegant for the party. Thank-you for all the hard work that went into preparing for such a fantastic event- was definently the best party of my week!

    Hello Room 116,
One of the best things about being a principal is getting to attend celebrations of student writing. I feel as though I’m back at Wines listening with pride as each of you read your finished work. Congratulations to one and all!
